Activities After Frame Removal
After your frame is removed, you may have to wear a cast or a brace on the limb that was lengthened or corrected for a period of time. This will give your bones a little longer to heal and consolidate (strengthen). The length of time that you may have to wear a brace or a cast is dependent on how well your bone has consolidated. Your surgeon will make the determination whether you will require a brace or a cast.
Your surgeon will likely recommend that you continue your exercises and increase your activity level. Motion and bearing weight on your affected limb promotes bone healing and strengthening.
